work opportunity - handy person needed
We are looking for a mature, reliable, permanent resident to install posters every Tuesday morning on our noticeboards. We have 15 noticeboards located between Brunswick, Mullumbimby, Byron, Suffolk and Lennox. On average, 4-6 of these boards will need to be attended to each week. The boards have a wood frame with Perspex facing, and the person hired just needs to drill a screw out of one side of the wood to access the board.
In addition, the frames of some of the boards need to be painted, which will give the person at least another 7 hours work.
You need your own car. The owner provides all other tools and materials. As you will need to step up onto a small footstep (height of a milk crate), you need to have physical stability, arm strength (to lift wooden frames up and down), and not use walking aids.
Reliability is a must!
Poster installation: The position is 2 hours per week, 7.30-9.30am every Tuesday. Neither the days nor times are flexible (unless you want to start earlier than 7.30am!) as our clients rely on our regularity. If it's a particularly busy week, then 3 hours may be required.
One-off board upgrade: we still need to assess the number of boards needing to be painted, but it will be no less than 7 hours in total. This is to be conducted weekdays in the early morning or late afternoon/evening so footpaths aren't blocked. You can determine what day/s you do this.
The rate is $25 per hour for the 2 hour training, and then $25 per hour for Byron and Suffolk Park boards, and $35 per hour for boards located at our other locations (to cover fuel). Painting the noticeboard frames is the same rate.
The position trial period is for 5 weeks in October/November while the owner is overseas. If you and the owner are mutually happy with the situation, the owner will make this an ongoing position.
APPLICATIONS & INTERVIEWS
Please email us a 1 page maximum overview about you (name, age, address (suburb only) & contact details. Include a brief blurb about how you feel you can sufficiently carry out this position, and why you want it (bit of extra on top of your pension etc.). We need reassuring that you're physically able to carry out the tasks, and that you know how to use a cordless power drill and paint brush!
